BE PREPARED. . .

Leaders are to :

  • give appropriate supervision (especially near water or other hazards);
  • have emergency plans and health numbers on site;
  • have a back-up adult for questions, directions, control and emergencies; and
  • assist organizers where possible.
  • If in doubt, please consult Scouts Canada - "Camping and Outdoor Activities"
  • Environment and Tree Planting projects will be listed on this web site.
  • Crests may be purchased through GTC Scout Shop.

In many cases, the City of Toronto and Toronto & Region Conservation Authority will supply equipment.

However, SCOUTS should always - BE PREPARED, so :

  • bring your own equipment if you have it (spades, buckets, watering cans, etc.,)
  • Work gloves should be considered if handling shrubs, fencing, clearing deadwood, etc., and
  • Sturdy footwear for digging (not running shoes).
  • WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING FOR WEATHER CONDITIONS :
    • - snow (wear boots);
    • - sleet and rain (rainwear);
    • - gales (warm clothes);
    • - mud and wet conditions (wear sturdy rainproof footwear and rain gear);
    • - shine (hats and suntan lotion).
  • Everything is a "GO" unless you are notified otherwise, or a "rain" date is listed.
