2011 AGM Voting Members Election

GTC Voting Members for the 2011 National AGM

We again need your help.

The Scouts Canada By-Law requires each Council to annually elect three members, called Voting Members, to represent them at the Scouts Canada National AGM.

This election is to be done by representatives, called Council Voting Reps, designated by Groups, Area Service Teams and the Council Service Team. The whole voting process will be completed via the internet and will not require attendance at meetings.

The members elected as Voting Members will be expected to attend, by invitation, Council level meetings and the National AGM, which is rotated at major centers across Canada. This will provide them an opportunity to learn more about Council and National level operations.

This is what Groups and Service Teams are being asked to do:

Nominate Voting Members

• Any five (5) registered members within the Council may nominate a member in good standing to serve as a Voting Member for the Council.
• You must use the “Nomination for Voting Member” form included with this posting.
• A copy of the completed form, signed by the nominators and the nominee, must be returned as specified on page 2 of the form.
• Nomination forms for Voting Members will be accepted until June 25, 2011.

Designate your voting representatives, your Council Voting Reps

• Council Voting Reps are the individuals selected by Groups and Service Teams to represent them in the voting process.
• Group Committees are asked to select three (3) representatives from their Group, one of which, if available, must be a Youth member 16 years or older.
• Area and Council Service Teams are asked to select four (4) representatives from their Service Teams, one of which must be a Youth 16 years or older.
• Group and Area Commissioners and the Council Commissioner are asked to enter these names online or forward their selections to the Elections Officer for inclusion on the voters list using the “Council Voting Reps Advice” form included with this posting.

These forms will be accepted until one week before the closing of the polls, i.e., until July 21, 2011.
